Be part of Gehl’s first-ever masterclass in Lithuania—an exclusive opportunity for 30 participants to explore public life research methods through theory and hands-on practice in Kaunas.

The full-day masterclass will offer participants a hands-on introduction to Gehl’s foundational theory and methodology, with a focus on Public Life Study 1.0. The morning session will cover key concepts behind people-centered urbanism, including why public life data matters, how to observe and measure it, and how these methods have evolved over time. Participants will then head into a Soviet-built neighborhood in Kaunas to apply Gehl’s tools in real-time, collecting data on how people use and move through public spaces. Then focus will shift to interpreting findings and exploring how data can be translated into design strategies, planning decisions, and action-oriented urban interventions. With plenty of space for discussion and reflection throughout the day, the masterclass bridges theory and practice, equipping attendees with both critical insight and practical skills for people-first city-making.
